The Cyprus Info-Day, held on November 6, 2024, in Platres, Limassol, and organized by Education Center “O Oikodomos” KEPO Ltd, focused on sharing project goals and outcomes enhancing youth employability in the construction sector. The participants were construction professionals, VET providers, and policymakers,
Georgios Christoforou, Director of KEPO Ltd, presented the development of a Roadmap and Action Plan addressing sectoral challenges through insights from Public-Private High-Level Working Groups. These groups included vocational training providers, higher education institutions, trade unions, and industry leaders, ensuring a collaborative and comprehensive approach.
Key project outcomes included masterclasses for SMEs to drive innovation, an apprenticeship toolkit to support SME training participation, and career guidance resources. The initiative also featured engagement activities and social media campaigns to attract young talent to construction careers, tackling the industry’s skills gap.
The event received positive feedback for its innovative solutions and strategic focus on workforce challenges. Participants were introduced to the project’s website, providing access to resources and updates, highlighting the potential of cross-sector collaboration to rejuvenate the construction industry and inspire the next generation.
